this post is about two items - both are guesses and will not be know for 3-4 games - but I gave it a shot .. take your shot
I emotions - how hard do we play each game this year- specially the lesser games
II how good are we - we only played one game are we really that good? we played really well one game last year against NC .. it was a fluke .. we were not that good
I first is the emotions - every team has lets downs .. you do not play at your peak every week .. got it! but some teams
1 play really hard almost every week very little let down and
2 others play poorly a few times each year and maybe even lose a head scratcher once every year. this second group is dr jeckyl and mr hide and you never know what your get
who are we .. EVERYONE PLAYS BIG IN BIG GAME .. COACHES DO NOT HAVE TO GET THE PLAYERS FIRED UP TO PLAY MIAMI .... what I am speaking of is when team play the weaker teams on their schedule. I think the passion and effort they play the weaker teams with is defined by the HC coaches and staff. Saban is all serious and heated and business, Jimmy Johnson was serious fun passionate and emotional. When you came onto the field the players wanted to run through walls for jimmy johnson .. even when they played jax state
I love our coaches .. and time will tell but I think norvell and staff will have the boys ready to play . no we will not come out like we did against ND and we should not expect that .. but I do not think we play flat emotionless non focused football like we have seen the last few years. I am not speaking of the kids knowing what to do or their abilities as a ball player .. this is strictly their emotions and passion
when the ball is kicked off and how hard they play .. I was very encouraged game one and have not seen that much effort emotion and us not give up in years
II the second is about how good are we
I think we are actually are really as good as we played ND and we will get much much better. A few reasons are as follows
1 we were not good for a half or a quarter here and there - we played well for 60 minutes .. it is who we are
2 the coaches improved us... it not we have talented players and they coaches did nothing .. we improved drastically from last year - this can only be done with excellent coaching - if we have excellent coaching and I think we do then we will get better .. a lot better
3 we only played one game but ND was a talented well coached team that played hard ... we do not have to guess if they are good or not .. we do not know how good they are but they are a good team.
summary - I think we are a good team .. and if we can avoid injuries and improve a lot over the next few weeks we may become a very good team ..... I think we played hard with passion and focus and I think we see that throughout the year .. but this is just a guess we only played one game and we will not know how good we are until after the Louisville game
