There was day when linebackers were the apex predator in FSU's defense but lately we've seen defensive backs like Jammie Robinson and Shyheim Brown lead the team in tackles. And with Tony White installing a 3-3-5 defense this spring, it's very possible FSU fans, and those of us cover the FSU beat, may have to adjust how we look at the roles of every defensive segment as four of the six players at the top of Nebraska's tackle chart were defensive backs.
FSU's coaches added three linebackers with more than 3,000 snaps of experience between them to a segment room that returns three linebacker with 1400 snaps under their belt. Together with two redshirt freshmen and one high school prospect, this should be an interesting and competitive spring practice.
