FSU sports information:
The Florida State men’s tennis team has named Calum MacGeoch as its newest assistant coach, joining reigning ACC champion head coach Dwayne Hultquist and assistant coach Sudanwa Sitaram for the 2025 season. This marks the first time the program has held two full-time assistant coaches since 2011.
“Calum has worked with some of the top juniors in the world, we are very excited for what he will bring to the player development side,” Hultquist said. “He has also proven to be very well connected across collegiate and professional ranks in tennis as he will be a valuable asset on the recruiting side from day one.”
“I’m thrilled to be joining Florida State, I'd like to thank Coach Hultquist and Coach Sitaram for giving me the opportunity to join their coaching team,” said MacGeoch. “FSU has always had a strong program and I’m excited to continue building my coaching career here in Tallahassee.”
MacGeoch joins the Seminoles after serving as a digital content planner for the official tennis governing body in Scotland, Tennis Scotland, for over two years and a performance partner previously. He also was a professional WTA coach for British tennis player Maia Lumsden. Lumsden became the No. 57 doubles player in the world after her incredible quarterfinals run at the 2023 Wimbledon Championships.
The Edinburgh, Scotland, native also had two collegiate assistant coaching stints at Middle Tennessee and New Mexico following his four-year playing career at Drake. He finished with 70 singles wins and 40 doubles victories, claiming four Missouri Valley Conference championships and named an All-MVC honoree in three different seasons.
He graduated with his bachelors’ degree in Business Administration and Management at Drake before earning his masters’ degree in International Strategic Marketing at the University of Glasgow.
“Calum is a hard-working young man with exceptional character,” Sitaram said. “We can’t wait for him to become part of the Seminole family.”
