When I analyze games and predict the outcome, the thing I take into account more than anything are recent trends, and this came has quite a few. The trends that matter for FSU have been slow starts, strong finishes and comical OL play. For Alabama, it's been strong season openers and the ability to run on anybody. The big question for FSU is how the offensive line will play. I think they'll be more consistent but it's unlikely that they won't be a weakness against the best DL in the nation. For Alabama, it's how well they'll be able to throw the ball against FSU.
So how will it play out?
Alabama will have difficulty throwing early, but their balance and tough running will eventually open things up. Their drives will begin taking big chunks of time off the clock.
FSU will have trouble protecting Francois and running the ball, Jacques Patrick's game doesn't match up well against Alabama. Their points will come on big passes and field goals and it won't be enough.
Unfortunately, I don't think FSUs strengths will buy them enough to overcome their weakness. Alabama has the match up advantage and the trend of consistent strong starts will continue.
FSU - 23
Alabama - 34
