Florida State women’s lacrosse has welcomed its first five student-athletes to campus for the spring semester, head coach Sara Tisdale announced Wednesday. The group joins the 14 high school student-athletes who signed in November in continuing to build the inaugural class of Florida State lacrosse, which will play its first season of competition in the spring of 2026.
“Our goal was to welcome a small group of mid-year transfers to Tallahassee,” Tisdale said. “Once the portal opened and campus visits began, these five student-athletes emerged as individuals who truly embody our program’s values. This group will play a crucial role in establishing Seminole lacrosse and fostering a strong connection between our program and the community.”
All five student-athletes now on campus are transfers from Division I institutions. Gabby Cleveland, an all-conference attacker during her time at Oregon, played the 2024 season at Ohio State. Midfielder Summer Harrell scored 220 goals in high school and originally enrolled at Penn State. Defender Loghan McNamara helped lead her high school team to an undefeated season and the school’s first state championship before enrolling at the University at Albany. Midfielder Lexi Smalline started nine games as a freshman last season at Eastern Michigan. Midfielder Olivia Sprinkle was a two-time team captain and all-county performer in high school before joining East Carolina.
“Lexi and Gabby bring valuable experience both on and off the field, and they understand the commitment required to thrive as ACC student-athletes,” Tisdale said. “Summer, Loghan and Liv are just beginning their careers, and we are eager to build the future of FSU lacrosse with them over the coming years. We look forward to seeing them grow into leaders on the field, in the classroom and within the community. By bringing this group in now, ahead of our first complete roster, we can focus on developing individual skills, prioritizing strength and conditioning, and enhancing their game IQ. Summer, Lexi, Gabby, Loghan and Liv will serve as ambassadors for our program, offering valuable feedback on the new stadium’s development and design, and assisting in recruiting future Seminoles.”
