The No. 9 Florida State Softball team (7-1) used an offensive onslaught in the fifth and sixth innings where they scored 14 unanswered runs in the two innings to blow past Wichita State (6-3) in a 15-5 win in six innings on Saturday night at the Shriners Children's Clearwater Invitational. The Noles have now run ruled their last five opponents which is the program's longest streak since 2019.

The Noles opened up the scoring in the first inning as Kennedy Harp extended her hitting streak to eight games with a single. Harp stole second and advanced to third on a wild pitch to put herself in scoring position for Michaela Edenfield with two outs. Edenfield delivered with a ground ball that drove the second baseman into the outfield, and Edenfield beat out the throw to give the Noles the lead.

Wichita State answered back to take the lead 2-1 in the top of the second and added two runs in the third and one run in the fifth to take a 5-1 lead.

After the previous five Noles were retired, Isa Torres broke the dry streak in the top of the fifth inning with a single. Jaysoni Beachum roped one off the center field wall for an RBI double to score Torres. Harp kept the party going with her fourth home run of the year, and in just three batters, the Noles were within one. Edenfield continued the rally with a double, and Jahni Kerr picked up a single to put runners on the corners with one out. Amaya Ross was hit by a pitch to load the bases then Katie Dack drew a walk to tie the game. Annabelle Widra then cleared the bases with a triple off the right field wall to give the Noles the 8-5 lead after five innings.

Jazzy Francik shut down the Shockers in the top of the sixth inning, and the Noles got right back to work in the bottom of the sixth inning. Harp led off the inning with a walk, and Edenfield hit a rocket over the left field fence to extend the lead. Hallie Wacaser was hit by a pitch and was relieved on the base paths by Addie DeLong who advanced to second on a wild pitch. DeLong moved to third on a sacrifice bunt from Kerr. Ross scored DeLong on a single to right field to make it 11-5. Dack reached on a fielder's choice, but Ross beat out the throw. Krystina Hartley walked to load the bases, then Torres hit a moonshot into right field for the grand slam which ended the ball game.

Edenfield and Harp led the way for the Noles as they went a perfect 7-for-7 at the plate with two RBI a piece. Harp has now recorded a RBI in every single game this season. With tonight's home run, Edenfield is now tied for third all-time with Kalei Harding for most career home runs in FSU history with 46.

Francik was credited with the win as she went two innings and allowed just one hit while striking out three.

FSU will close out the Clearwater Shriner's Invitational on Sunday as they will face UCF at 8 p.m. on ESPN.

Every game seems to reveal an additional aspect of this squad that makes it look increasingly dangerous to opponents. Last night it was speed on the bases; stolen bases and good base running.

Love them Lady Noles! 🥎 🏆:Go Seminoles
