The Florida State softball announced their 2024 schedule on Thursday afternoon that features 13 NCAA Tournament teams from 2023 and five home games against teams that made a Super Regional in 2023.
"We are excited to announce this highly competitive schedule for Team 41 and our fans. The ability to host many great programs at JoAnne Graf Field will allow us to compete in front of one of the best softball fan bases in the country. We are also capturing a great opportunity with our road schedule. The challenges we will face both at home and on the road will challenge us as a team. The journey of a season is a special one, and this is a challenging schedule that Team 41 is excited for. The Plex will be rocking, and we can't wait for the first pitch on February 8th," Head Coach Lonni Alameda said.
Fans will get their first look at the 2024 team on February 3, 2024, for the Garnet and Gold Scrimmage. This will also serve as Fan Day.
The Seminoles will once again open the season with the JoAnne Graf Classic on Feb. 8-10 and will feature games against Charlotte, Texas Tech and Florida A&M. FSU will then travel to Clearwater for the annual Shriners Children's Clearwater Invitational on Feb. 15-18. The schedule for the tournament will be announced at a later date.
FSU will return home for the Dugout Club Classic on Feb. 22-24 before traveling to Eugene, Ore., for a tournament hosted by the University of Oregon where Maryland, Washington, Oregon and Mount Saint Mary's will be participants along with the Seminoles. FSU will then travel to Fort Myers, Fla., on Mar. 8-10 to participate in the FGCU Spring Break Classic where they will take on FGCU, Western Michigan and Pitt.
After two consecutive weekends on the road, the Seminoles will return to The Plex for a doubleheader against South Dakota State on Mar. 12 before they will play five consecutive home games against teams that made a Super Regional. The Seminoles will host 2023 Women's College World Series participant Alabama on Mar. 13 followed by their first ACC series against Duke on Mar. 15-17 before hosting Texas in a midweek game on Mar. 20.
FSU will play ACC series against Pitt, NC State, Louisville, Notre Dame and Boston College with a two-game series against McNeese State sprinkled in between conference play on Apr. 2-3. The first game of the Sunshine Showdown against Florida will take place in Gainesville on Apr. 24. FSU will return home to play a three-game series against North Carolina on senior weekend before hosting the Gators on May 1. FSU will end the regular season at Syracuse before traveling to Duke for the ACC Tournament which begins on May 8.
