FSU sports information:
The Florida State softball team released its nine-game fall schedule on Thursday afternoon with seven of those games at the Seminole Softball Complex. All fall games at the Seminole Softball Complex will be free to attend.
FSU will open up the fall schedule on Oct. 4 against Chipola at the Seminole Softball Complex at 5 p.m. FSU will then continue the homestand on Oct. 6 against West Florida and Oct. 12 against St. Johns River State College. FSU will travel to Troy to play the Trojans on at 2 p.m. eastern. Troy finished the 2024 season with a 34-22 record.
The Seminoles will return home to take on Gulf Coast State College on Oct. 19 at 2 p.m. FSU will have a date with rival and 2024 NCAA Semifinalist Florida in Gainesville at 2 p.m. on Oct. 27. The Seminoles will round out fall ball with three home games against South Alabama on Nov. 3, Team Canada on Nov. 8 and Auburn on Nov. 9.
The Seminoles return seven starters from their lineup as well as three pitchers who saw a start in the circle in 2023. Headlining the returners is National Freshman of the Year and NFCA Second Team All-American Jaysoni Beachum and NFCA Third Team All-American. FSU also returns five All-ACC players in Beachum, Edenfield, Ashtyn Danley, Isa Torres and Jahni Kerr.
FSU brings in six new players for the 2025 season including another top 5 recruiting class including Addie Delong, Jazzy Francik, Shelby McKenzie and Isabella Ruggiero. FSU also brought in transfer Julia Apsel who posted a 1.39 ERA and pitched 20 complete games in 31 starts. FSU also brought in infielder and pitcher Annabelle Widra.
Widra played in 49 games for Auburn in 2024 and 21 starts at third base, eight starts at second base, five starts at pitcher, one start at pitcher and one start as the designated player. Widra hit .259 with two home runs and nine RBI while also posting a 2.86 ERA in the circles. Widra had 38 strikeouts compared to just three walks in the 41.2 innings in the circle.
