FSU sports information:

The No. 18 Florida State volleyball team (10-2, 2-0) made quite the statement on Sunday afternoon as it swept (25-23, 25-16, 27-25) No. 25 Miami (9-4, 0-2) at the Knight Sports Complex in Coral Gables, Fla. FSU has now won six-consecutive matches against Miami which ties its longest win streak in the series. This was also just the second time FSU has swept a ranked opponent in a true road game. FSU swept No. 21 Texas A&M in College Station in 2014.

The Noles and Hurricanes played a tight first set, but FSU was able to gain a little separation with a 5-1 run to take a 15-11 lead. The Hurricanes quickly responded to tie the set at 17. The teams traded points for the next 12 rallies, but with the set tied a 23, FSU got back-to-back kills from Audrey Koenig and Taylor Head to take the first set.

Set two got off to a hot start for the Noles, and they never looked back in a 25-16 win in set two. FSU scored the first five points in the set and jumped out to an 8-2 lead. Miami responded well and cut the lead to three at 11-8, but that was as close as they would come as the Noles continued to increase their lead to take a 2-0 lead in the match.

The Hurricanes controlled a lot of set three and held a 22-18 lead, but the Noles would not be denied as they went on a 5-1 run to tie the set a 23. The Noles fought off two set points and finally got to match point themselves at 26-25. Koenig put the pressure on with a great serve to force a free ball for the Noles, and Head put down the game's final kill to give the Noles their second win over Miami in five days.

Koenig was once again terrific for the Noles with 14 kills for her eighth-consecutive match with 10 or more kills. Khori Louis also recorded 10 kills on 19 attempts while adding a game-high five blocks. Kyleene Filimaua led the way defensively with 12 digs.

The Seminoles will hit the road again next weekend as they'll face Virginia on Friday and Virginia Tech on Sunday. Both matches can be streamed on ACC Network Extra.
