Golf FSU women win ACC golf title

Match play is so scary! One bad hole (like the one Lottie had) can really change the momentum. And, of course, the announcers kept talking about how all the momentum had swung Wake's way on the back 9. When Lottie lost her match and the title coming down to a freshman, I thought we might be doomed. But Wake hit their tee shot out of bounds and opened a door for Alexandra to win it on 18. I can't even imagine the nerves she had to have been feeling. Whew!

The team now knows they can win match play on a big stage even when their #1 doesn’t win her match. Should be a rallying memory in the NCAA’s.

Hard to believe this is their first. Hopefully they can go to California and MBB can get their title in Omaha. That would be tremendous finish for FSU sports year. We were able to go by for Friday match play. It is really enjoyable to watch their enthusiasm, camaraderie and oneness. The way amateur sports should be. Congratulations and good luck to Amy and all the ladies at NCAAs

Florida State down 2-1, the match between FSU’s Kaylah Williams and Wake Forest’s Sarah Lydic was all square after 17 holes. Williams made birdie on the 18th to clinch a 1UP victory. Williams and Ting were the only Seminoles to finish a perfect 2-0 in match play for the week.
