FSU women's basketball begins West Coast road trip at Stanford on Thursday

The Florida State women’s basketball team (13-2, 3-0 ACC) travels west to face Stanford (8-6, 0-3 ACC) on Thursday at 10 p.m. at the Maples Pavillon.

FSU trails in the series history, 3-2, after falling at the Ball Dawgs Classic last season, 100-88.

Ta’Niya Latson, Makayla Timpson and O’Mariah Gordon lead the ACC and rank within the top five nationally in nine categories.

Latson, who was named to the Wooden Midseason Watch List on Tuesday, leads the nation in points per game (27.9), as the Seminoles rank second in scoring in the country (94.9).

The Last Time Out

Despite a slow start, the Seminoles defeated Syracuse (6-8, 0-3 ACC) 85-73 on Sunday at the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center.

FSU had four players contributing double figures, led by Latson who scored 25. Latson added seven assists and six steals.

Timpson secured her eighth double-double of the season and 39th of her career behind 17 points and 11 rebounds. Timpson added two blocks

Mariana Valenzuela contributed a season-high 15 points and six rebounds, while Gordon scored 16 points, four assists and three steals.

FSU finished the game with 10 three-point shots made, nine scored in the second half. Gordon tied her career-high with four, while Valenzuela contributed three. Carla Viegas knocked down two in the third quarter and Latson contributed one.
