Florida State junior Luke Clanton will be competing at the Cogizant Classic at the PGA National Golf Course from Thursday-Sunday in Palm Beach Gardens.
With 19 PGA TOUR University Accelerated points, Clanton can earn his 20th by making the cut, securing his PGA TOUR Card.
Clanton will start on Thursday at 7:07 a.m. and will be paired with former Seminole, Daniel Berger.
Alums Vincent Norrman will start at 7:40 a.m. and Cristobal Del Solar will begin his first round at 8:35 a.m.
As the top-ranked amateur in the world, Clanton won the Watersound Classic at the Shark’s Tooth Golf Course, leading the Noles to victory over the field that included six ranked teams. Clanton shot rounds of 66 and 67 on the 36-hole day on February 19, finishing 10-under to win. The Noles won the tournament by nine strokes, scoring 26-under, 211.
Berger has played in five events this season, turning in three finishes inside the top 25. He was the runner-up at the Waste Management Phoenix Open, finishing at 17-under with rounds of 68, 66, 66 and 67.
Norrman has made the cut in all his five starts this season, while Del Solar has earned two in four outings.
Coverage for the tournament will begin at 6:45 a.m. on ESPN+ and will air at 2 p.m. on the Golf Channel. Sirius XM will also air coverage starting at 12 p.m.
