Gate River Run tomorrow

I did a 6-7 mile run Wednesday morning in the Gainesville area and was drenched by the time I was finished.

Yep I'm running for the first time since 1980, when I ran as an 8th grader. Back then I ran an 8:15 pace. This year, I'm just hoping to finish.....don't care how slow I have to run, but I'm guessing I'll be in the 10:30-11:00 pace range. I'm worried about the temperature/humidity.

Good luck to all.

Ran it yesterday. It was fun but didn't seem the same this year. There weren't as many spectators and more people running in the wrong wave than I remember. I treated it as a fun run and tried to stop at all stations for handouts. 1:34:57 official time. I'm going to run Wave 1 next year to avoid the crowd and try to beat my personal best.

I did horrible. Legs felt heavy from the start. Had to walk at about mile 6, so I just waited for my wife and finished with her.

I was fine in the neighborhoods but once I felt the full impact of the sun and humidity I struggled. That bridge just about killed me.
