I just watched 'Get Back' on disney+. A few observations from a fan of the Beatles, but admittedly not the biggest fan.....

1) John Lennon was a bit of a goof off, and a little weird
2) I found it VERY odd that Yoko Ono was almost literally at Lennon's hip the whole time on camera. Really weird.
3) George was serious and Ringo never talked.
4) that poor red headed kid serving food/drinks and had to hold the words on the roof for John.
5) I could see a nearly immediate change in all four when they started on the roof, looks like they knew what they were great at when the lights turned on.
6) I found it boring, and at the same time, did not want it to end.
7) those two cops wanted nothing to do with being there.
8) Paul, once he saw the cops on the roof...it was like he was infused with adrenaline immediately.

I kinda wish they would have been able to split each episode up into a more palatable chunk.

they are ridiculously talented. I found it interesting in the first episode the interactions between george and paul, especially when he spoke of george’s “harrisongs”.

i know that john and paul were the main event but george was responsible for some of the beatles greatest ever songs.

something is an absolute masterpiece.

When they went multiscreen for the rooftop, I audibly said... 'oh my God, this is awesome'. I think John LOVED being up there too. George as well.

When Paul was just playing the guitar, then ALL OF A SUDDEN 'Get Back' was created!

I'm sure this is how many/most songs are created, but wow, was it awesome to actually see.

I don't believe for a second that he just all of a sudden created Get Back in that session.

it depends on how you view it really. the hook existed before the session but not in the form as we know it. the final hook was resolved during the session including some of the verses and those verses evolved over the next couple of weeks after it.

i was always the odd ball in that as much of a smash hit as Get Back was, in its single form i prefer the B side track Don't Let Me Down.

I loved it. Been playing the 2021 version of the album all week. John was very distracted, drugs and a new love. Ringo was the referee, George was simply tired of the shadow. Paul trying to be Brian Epstein was a mistake, but he couldn't do it without being overbearing. But, when push came to shove, John's lights came on and he delivered. The rooftop was simply magic. Ready to watch that part again.

Am I way off base with my 'Yoko Ono attached to John's hip the whole time is weird' assessment?
