I have to go to Newark for work for a few days next week. I will be working and staying near the airport. Is there an easy way to get over to Manhattan a few of the nights for dinner or is it a huge hassle?

God Bless you. Staying in Newark? Damn. There is a train from what I remember, cab should be about 50$.

The train is your best bet. You can always take a cab or Uber if need be but it will take much longer and cost more. You have two train options. If you want to go to midtown or uptown Manhattan then you take the train from Newark Penn Station to the Manhattan Penn Station. If you want to go to downtown Manhattan, you take the PATH train from Newark to the World Trade Center. Both take between 20-25 mins usually.

There used to also be an Olympia Trails bus from the Sewark airport to Penn Station.

Train. Last stop at Newark airport. Drops you off on Penn Station. Like 25 to 30 min

Train.

We stayed in Newark a few years ago and went into the city. Newark just sucks.

Newark penn station is a cab ride from the airport. Then PATH (subway) to either world trade center or NY Penn station.

Train is the best option. Uber was $70 last time I did it from the airport. 45 minute drive.

Why do you think I called it Sewark. I had a crash pad on the south side of Newark when I flew for People Express. God I hated that place.

The KFC had bullet proof glass.

Newark is a bit of a trash fire, but NJ is actually a pretty nice state. It is just that the impression everyone gets is Newark.
