Any of you interested in working in the LA area?
Major professional services company - architecture, engineering, etc.
Might have to work in the boonies a bit for the first little while.
Great bennies.
Will not report to me :D

Thought I'd ask you guys before I scrolled thru my linkedIn connections.

i'm only a regular dork so not qualified or interested, but what part of LA area constitutes the boonies? Lancaster?

I'm a GIS dork, but have NO interest in living ANYWHERE near LA..........though might be looking for another job here soon

On that note, I interviewed for another ESRI Instructor position last month, but I would have had to move to Seattle..........NOPE. Though I did have a great conversation after about the possibility of working remote as an ESRI Instructor and he said they've been talking about it for a couple of years and that I'd be one of his first calls.

It’s likely all office work- the part I’ve been hesitant to say is that we need immediate help in Bakersfield. So...you’d have to spend a fair amount of time there.

God's Country. You should be so blessed to be able to move from Florida to the Central Valley.

What's wrong with Bakersfield? I mean, you've got bakers, and fields. Who doesn't like those things?

Shoot, The Bake is the western terminus of Interstate 40 which hits the 5 right there. Sounds very exciting. Calling all GIS dorks.
I spent one night there in an underwhelming hotel on a road trip some years back. I walked down the street to a good little coffee joint the next morning, so there is that... The only thing we saw of town and the area was thru the windshield.
Given this short report, Belem is likely to get covered up with inquiries.

Will be in Bako for Thanksgiving this year with the family. If one of you chuckle heads get the job, i'll show you around and show you why it's called God's country -- a couple of beers at Buck Owen's Crystal Palace, then pick up some meth and tacos, party in the oilfields....good times :)

I-40 ends in Barstow. From there it's the SR 58 to Bakersfield and to the 5.

(in a GIS thread - LOL)
