Stumbled across this and discovered how EG's roots could be a key in Clemson come November
Motivation - Golson grew up a fan of North Carolina basketball. He’s always dreamed of playing in the ACC. He even committed to North Carolina after his junior season before ultimately signing with Notre Dame. His junior season didn’t end the way he wanted at Notre Dame. He went through some adversity during his college career. He, just like any athlete, wants to go out on a high note. He wants to prove his doubters wrong. The ones that always said he was too short, maybe too turnover prone Too this, too that. The schedule sets up where Golson will get that chance and more. In fact, if he wins in his home state, against Clemson on Nov. 7, that will likely mean a trip to the ACC title game like it has for the winner of that game the last six years. (Golson also won his first state title at Death Valley.) It would then mean a date in North Carolina, the state he once thought he was going to play his college ball, in the ACC title. A win there and Florida State is back in the final four just like last year. Something that parts of the nation didn’t think was possible this year. At least not until this latest move.
