Good news! Now the U.S. Military has a "legitimate" excuse for its misogyny.

Apparently despite paying billions of dollars for its design, they forgot that there's female pilots now and the new F-35 is guaranteed to snap their necks on ejection.

Good job!

My question is, does there ever reach a point where the military leadership and the military industrial complex suffers repercussions for boondoggles like the F-35? I realize the average citizen has no idea how much was wasted on this POS ($392 billion not counting research that is "shared" and not factored in or 10% of the US annual government budget in total), but it's absolutely ridiculous.

So don't plan on seeing any HLA/HGOGA in Top Gun 2. Thanks military industrial complex.

Repercussions? Nothing but minor ones. When it comes to waste and inefficiency in bloated big govt, the military is probably the worst there is. Dems don't want to get pegged as soft on defense, and politically Reps are better off not pointing out its inefficiencies, so that when Dems talk about cutting its budget, they can say exactly that. And the media firebreathers can claim Dems are "Gutting the Military!". I'm not saying it b/c I lean left -- I've supported the Rep in 5 of the last 6 presidential elections. But look no further than Romney's plan to double military spending over 10 years. How in the world could that ever be considered a conservative approach, just blanket throwing money at it? How about closing some bases we don't need, or ending weapons programs the military tells you they don't want or need.
