Hate to see any business close. It was in my opinion the weakest of the Tally breweries.

Agreed on both statements. Tough to keep up with Proof, Deep, Ology. Not sure about Lake Tribe.

Huge Proof fan and have heard great things about Ology. Grasslands never seemed to have much of a crowd whenever I visited. Their beer was meh.

Agreed. If you are going to stay in the beer business, then make sure your beer tastes good.

I'm more of a Deep guy myself, but I did go yesterday for the final day. The owner of Grasslands is a really nice guy and I hate they couldn't make it work.

I don't mean this in a mean spirited way, but I don't think I've seen any one post/mention missing the beer at Grasslands. All the comments I've read are about how great of a guy Gabe is and they're going to miss watching soccer or hanging out at the brewery. I hope the crew there find a good opportunity at another local spot. With the Proof expansion and both Ology and Deep putting out acclaimed beers it has to be hard to keep up or find a niche. Doubt the rent was cheap over there either....

I did hear their head brewer was moving to Ology, but yes, I agree with you. I didn't frequent Grasslands by any means, so I don't know that I tasted many of their beers, maybe 10-12 over the 4 years. I do know they won a gold medal for their porter in 2017. Sometimes they seemed to try to hard to make beers that pushed limits. That's fine, but your whole menu can't be that way.

Speaking of local beers, grabbed a 6er of this Proof/Deep collaboration at Publix over the weekend and it's delicious.

This is really good stuff. Pretty darn cool that it is a collaboration.
