After watching but four games:

Forget Borg/McEnroe, forget Federer/Nadal, forget Tiger whenever whatever including right now, forget anything Jordan EVER did, forget (forgive me O Lord) JAMEIS!!!!?? (noooo…)*

If you're foolishly missing the indisputable GOAT Federer curbstomp/blitzkrieg/dominate/obliterate the undefeatable #1 Novak like a rented mule, you're missing the greatest tennis player/match/[point/rally/shots(s) ever, this finessed perfection being (not even arguably) the most magnificent tennis display in history.

Although arguably I'm prone to hyperbole, you'll thank me later for this understated heads up.

You'll hate yourself for waiting for SportsCenter's inevitable breathless touting, because every shot/rally is a potential SportsCenter highlight.

Trust the expert's lead and wager at least 10M against the field at all future tennis "thingys," a even surer bet than the Noles vs. America in 2015.

*Also trounces Third Reich vs. Poland, September, 1939.

Novak is beatable in best of three ATP events. He has a top level game, but his dominance comes from his fitness. He can go five plus sets with little to no drop off. Nadal is too big, and Federer is too old to go the distance with him right now.

Surely you jest.

Novak is only # 1 in the world, Roger is # 1 all-time.

You obviously missed The Truth today.

Care to wager, Dude? You pick the limit and I'm there; I've got Rog and you've got Yesterday's News for the next FIVE Slams. Even. No limit. Funds escrowed NOW.

Totally serious, Fellow Tennis Fan.

Yesterday's news? The last time Federer was regularly winning slams, the Gators were regularly winning football games. They both looked to be back in 2012, but I haven't seen a lot from either since.

Most of the newer players lack the personality of the OG. They play great tennis, but will never be as fun to watch. I also appreciate the one handed backhand and a great volley and finess game over strictly power baseline playing that seems to dominate now.

Jameis, I'm getting old.

I agree. Unfortunately, the serve and volley game has gone the way of the dinosaurs even at Wimbledon.

Au Contrare, Tennis Buffs.

The NEW retooled GOAT totally dispelled your shallow SportsCenter impressions. Had you actually WATCHED today's match you would comprehend how your reliance on the old California serve and volley approach was again present TODAY, just like 1985, as Novak was totally unable to pass or lob the 24 year old 34 year old GOAT.

If you're going to opine, at least opine with something other other than a regurgitation of SportsCenter talking heads. Please challenge me on this, as I enjoy straightening you obvious fans who are reciting blindly YESTERDAY'S NEWS. Try using your own eyes, gentlemen and critiquing just what Gilbert and McEnroe said, and then, once you KNOW what you're talking about, please return so that I make teach you gentlemen about what tennis is about.

I look forward to our future discourse.

It was an hour and a half match. Novak's game is endurance. They just met at Wimbledon. Same story as last year. Novak wears people out.

Dear Random Tennis Fan:

You only READ about the match, which explains at least partially your refreshingly candid yet hopelessly ingenous naiveté.

Gentle Fan, you're still myopically reading yesterday's newspaper, clinging hopefully to yesterday's news. You do obviously mimic today's 'conventional wisdom' held by the ordinary general public, the same public that elected your socialist president.

With all due respect, you have no idea what you're talking about, who's politely correcting you, nor obviously the ability to form your own opinion rather than reciting what you read, and probably sadly still believe. You sound like the typical avid fan who relies upon the IGNORANT tennis media's excretion to the masses. I prefer not to embarrass a fellow tennis fan, because you sound sincere, wrong, but sincere. Do you personally KNOW the players, do you KNOW the coaches, do you KNOW the line judges, do you KNOW the chair? Did you know Novak and Roger as juniors? Have you ever witnessed the NCAA tennis finals? Do you know the tennis royalty PERSONALLY? Have you hosted them in your home? In how many Olympics have you seen every match? Have you ever coached men's tennis? What was your National Ranking as a junior (or*giggle* Sectional or State)? Did you play D-1 tennis? Where? NCAA D-1, 2 or 3, Doubles only, Singles, or both - in the days before or after the game changing NCAA 'let' ruling? High school individual, team or state championships, on what level?USTA doubles or singles ranking, on what level? Are you a fixture at all the majors, in a box or with the unwashed commoners? I'll stop there as a courtesy, offering an olive branch rather than a meat cleaver.

OR, like the majority of Joe Sixpack TV Barcolounger Cowboy tennis fans, do you rely upon what you believe you saw, and what the tennis talking heads tell you that you saw?

I will WAGER YOU ANY AMOUNT YOU WISH that I'm right and you're wrong. I'll suggest that you place your money, ANY amount which you select, to take advantage of my naiveté. Next match: $10K, posted in escrow WITH YOUR TALLAHASSEE LAWYER. If you don't like the wager, how much WILL you wager? Choose $1 to millions: Your bet: Make a counter proposal and you're on.

If you don't KNOW a Tallahassee lawyer, I'll propose one of mine.

I've watched Novak and Rog IN PERSON more times than you've watched them on TV. Do you know either?

I'll take educating you offline if you wish in order to save you further public embarrassment. I'd be happy to share tennis insight with you without further admonition from me on this forum if that's the poison that you choose, In ten minutes I'll teach you what you obviously don't know.

Please don't insult both of us again by reiterating your simplistic point and grunt one sentence suggestions as lemming-like bleatings of what you think, or what you think you think, or you'll force me to treat you as foe rather than fellow tennis friend. At least WATCH the Goddamned match before you lead with your chin again. Full disclosure: (a) I watched the subject match on top of the line widescreen HD television rather than live, and (b) until you shockingly popped out of nowhere, you represent a bold new frontier, i.e,. the FIRST person I've ever encountered, live, in person, televised or untelevised, cable, network or other media outlets, reported or unreported, in the private sector, in interviews, or in the print media, who had the temerity to challenge my KNOWLEDGE and am, Duhhh, undefeated in Tennis Armageddon with all of my pros, at least all of my pros who have jokingly chided me.

You, fellow tennis fan, remind me of the proverbial dog that's caught the Buick. What do you do now, Rover?

Choose wisely, my friend.

I lean toward RF as the greatest of all time, however it's hard to make a definite call at this point when he's 10-23 against Nadal and if Nadal gets healthy, he's still capable of breaking the record.

McEnroe would be proud of your rants.

I tell you who I love watching these days: Monfils.

I'll be your Huckleberry. I don't follow tennis. I have no idea who these players are or what I am doing. I'm not even sure what your bet is proposing or when it will happen. Nevertheless, I like to gamble and have a cool Andrew Jackson that says you are wrong. I can suggest a lawyer for escrow, which may be a good idea because when I go drinking in Tally who knows how much cash I will have left at the end of the weekend. Have your people contact my people and we can draw up the contracts and arrange the escrow.

Really wanted Federer to get it done last night but I just don't think he can beat Djoker in five. He left it all out there. Great match, was so glad to have that on and not the Cowboys-Giants.

When will we see an American (male) in the US Open finals again? No time soon I'm guessing. Tennis seems to be a sport that people love to watch, but fewer seem to play nowadays.

There's no one even close as far as I can tell. I guess Isner is the top American? What is he , maybe 15-20 in the world?

I was pulling for him too but I think he's lost a step and not quite the player he used to be. Father time remains undefeated.
