Green Line to BC?

Whats the verdict on ease and efficiency of using the Green Line from the Prudential Center area out to Chestnut Hill? My dad and I are staying at the Hilton Back Bay and not getting a car. This seems like a direct shot (with tons of stops in between) so was planning to take it out there. Any experience with this, any better options?
