Lets say for the sake of argument, Bobby, Bob Goin, and the powers that "were" elected to join the SEC after all.
(Remember, the $$$ was actually better in the ACC back then as well, but for sake of argument, $$$ was not a factor "then".)
Now we'd be in the SEC East most likely, with UF, UGa, Kentucky, Vandy, Missouri, and Tennessee
Poor South Carolina is either in the ACC or Big 12
I would bet "perhaps" that the 1999 and 2013 titles may still have happened, but lets suppose that the 1993 title would not exist.
Or '93 and '13 happened, '99 sacrificed.
let say in 1/2 the years where we lost 1 game, we lost 2 instead. In 1/2 the years where we lost 2 games, we lost 3 instead. The "Dynasty" doesnt happen, then, because we dont finish in the Top 5 all 14 years.
(I dont think this is too preposterous of an idea. It only adds loss #3 in 3 years, and lost #2 in another 3. only 6 extra losses to the overall total - i just dont think the "dynasty" label would apply)
So, here are the facts:
1. FSU is in the SEC - flush w/TV cash. A new rival UGA is definitely born (Clemson now gone, so thats a wash I think). But now Vandy, Kentucky, Missouri and Tennessee come to Doak (instead of Wake, Louisville, BC, and NCSU) - to me another wash.
2. We have only 2 national championships
3. We have no dynasty to claim.
Are we happy as a fan base with this?
