Haven't had a good tipping thread in a while

So came across this article:
https://amp.businessinsider.com/how-much-to-tip-uber-hairstylist-housekeeping-delivery-2018-5

Several are ridiculous. Who tips the cable installer? Or karaoke DJs??

Come on!
I maintain the most ridiculous one that I've come across is at Jersey Mike's...

I still can't believe it's not a joke.

I did takeout from a restaurant this weekend. The bill was on a tablet. Similar to the pic, the choices for tip popped up in squares. There were 4 very large squares marked 18%, 20%, 22% and 25%. At the very bottom was a very tiny option, much smaller than that in the picture that said "other". Although I was completely annoyed, I had decent service so hit the 18% option.

Dude you’re going to have to seriously fix that phrasing or I have to figure how to explain why you guys aren’t over any more. Well the bride and kid can come but you’re on probation.

So you will have to explain this to me. Why a karaoke DJ? I thought the karaoke people were the DJ. Whats the DJ do, press the buttons? People have been doing that on jukeboxes since the 50s. I confess, Ive only been to a couple karaoke bars though.
Heck if I know! I thought it was ridiculous.

When I was in Korea on business, I was taken out to a Karaoke bar. It was quite amazing. We had our own VIP room with an 8 foot TV/Video and plush velvet couches. Waitresses kept bringing shot after shot with fresh fruit and other snacks. We had a machine where we selected the songs. I was the only American there. Most of my colleagues chose Korean songs. My two performances were Sweet Home Alabama and Sympathy for the Devil, for which I told two of the young Korean associates to say "woo woo" every time I pointed at them. They didn't miss a beat.

I don't know if there was a Karaoke DJ or if anyone tipped them. I assume the waitresses were tipped, but not by me as my Korean colleagues picked up the tab. I don't know why I am rambling, I could probably blame Tribe (or totallynottribe) but it is my only CSB involving Karaoke and the unknown status of a DJ tip.

Much like Germans love David Hasselhoff, Koreans (I am told) LOVE karaoke.
