He's had this look a LOT in the past few weeks. Great camp overall. He never had that "really bad" practice this fall where he got super testy. He's given cautiously positive words for his club but certainly not over the top. But dang if I'm not getting the vibe that he's holding back on what he really thinks could happen.
I have a suspicion that from what he's seen from our boys in fall camp, he feels very good about our chances. Like totally NOT a "-7 underdog to Bama" chance. But a "we might have a great showing on Saturday and surprise a lot of people and win by double digits" chance.
He's miscalculated before, so I think he's been more guarded on his predictions since then. But I'd much rather have him quietly confident in what we're capable of, than coming to the mic looking stressed. I hope he's 100% spot on.
