Glad to see they get a week of the same media crap we've endured to the better part of a year. Be interesting to see how far espn is willing to go with a man that has real economic resources with which to fight. Haven't heard a word of negativity about the pats that may have skin in the game.

The only difference is that the patriots are actually cheat.

They deserve every bit of negative press they get.

^^^ cant be serious dude can't act like you hate ESPN for what they do to us then not recognize when they do it to some one else. They taking advantage of a mob of NFL fans who hate the pats by writing bs article after bs article and getting them to click on it

Same thing everyone said about us and Jameis.

Way to feed off the narrative.

Narrative or not, Bill Bellicheck is a cheater. I did not just learn this last week. I can't stand the guy and would love to see him suspended for a long time.

You don't really think that those balls were magically deflated or that Brady and co had nothing to do with it do you?
Posted from Rivals Mobile

Deflation was due to atmospheric conditions as verified by numerous scientists. Inflate in warm room and take ball into 25* temp will cause ball to lose pressure. Media piling on is the same as they did for JW.

You don't think the balls being deflated will cause a 38-point win, do you? I can understand the Colts being mad if they lost by 2, but 38? The fans are sore losers. Just like Oregon conveniently having guys not get suspended for our game, but they do against OSU. I wasn't upset. We lost by 39. Alot more had to do with it than that.

Bwahahahahaha. Wonder why this only happened to one of the two teams then?? And there are just as many "scientists", if not more that say this theory- in that timeframe is total BS.

The balls being deflated didn't change the outcome of the game, New England was the better team on the field that day, deflate gate or not.

With that said, anybody who thinks Belecheat and Brady didn't have anything to do with this whatsoever well, there's just no help for you. They are always known to flirt the line of ethical or not, the history is there. Now the NFL is going after some rogue locker room assistant..lol

I definitely know how New England fans feel. Whether they did it on purpose with the full knowledge of Brady and Belichik or it was a rogue equipment manger or something in between this story had gotten way more attention than it has warranted.

It's really not a big deal. They should probably be punished in line with a player not observing the media policy, making an obscene gesture on the field or a uniform violation (well, maybe a little more severe). Fine and a mid/late round pick or two.

This is what ESPN is in the business of. Suck the blood out of the story until it's a dried up carcus.

Exactly. I've never claimed to have an effect. However, the intent to cheat was there. It's not the first time

Ugh, it's enough to want to stop watching ESPN altogether. As a fan of both FSU and NE, I've about had it with all this crap. No one would care about this stuff if it weren't the Pats much like no one would care if "insert QB name here" uttered FHRITP on campus.

Couldn't agree more. Everyone hates a winner these days so its easy to buy into the nonsense, especially if it is played over and over again by the hit parade of talking heads with each needing to go further than the last guys opinion.

Seriously, a 12% reduction in psi which is almost unnoticeable was compared to athletes taking PEDs, point shaving, and an assault on the integrity of the game, where the outcome should include everything from benching Brady to forfeiting the super bowl entirely. It is a media fueled insanity that rings so familiar. "Yippee ki-yay mother..."

the reality of the situation is that it isnt really cheating. Any one who has ever played a football game never lost then said "no way they were better than us...Go check the air pressure of those balls over there"....truthfully how many of you even knew there was even an exact range the balls had to be in terms of PSI until this whole media witch hunt to spark interest/create rating for the superbowl started reporting on this whole BS story. I thought a fan base that seen this before with jameis would have been wise to it and atleast been questioning espn and the media instead of listing to their every word as gospel.....Facts of the situation are the NFL aint doing nothing play on....

The atmosphere only selected patriots balls to deflate? That's odd man

What's your point? You can cheat all you want as long as you win by enough that it may not have mattered?

I don't hate NE at all. What they did is cheating. It's not a question.

The reality of it is that is 100% cheating. Whether that cheating had any impact on the game or not is not only unknown but more so irrelevant. But bellichik and Brady cheated. Simple as that.

I'm sorry, are you really trying to sell people on the fact that it's not cheating because they didn't know the rule existed?

Who is taking the media's word as gospel?

I can't believe some are actually thinking it isn't. That's nuts. I could care less about the Pats and don't really care that it happened or what kind of punishment they get or don't get, but to say it's not cheating is some naivety of the highest order.

The sad part is the Patriots are good enough to beat teams without cheating. First spygate and now this.

If Sean Payton got suspended a year for bountygate with little to no knowledge, Bellicek should get the same. As this is his second offense and per Goodell not knowing is not an excuse. Taping and studying other teams signals is much worse than this. But this is much worse than a uniform violation and they were going to suspend Lynch for wearing the wrong colored cleats.

And many teams as good as the Pats would gladly trade draft picks and fines to go to the Super Bowl

I think it is pretty obvious, the trolling by the media.

If a QB from Another U says FHRITP it is not a story (especially if another U is in the SEC) and if this deflate gate crap happens to the Titans or the Redskins or the Packers or 28 other franchises it isn't a big deal.

I think cheating in a conference title game would be a big deal no matter the team/QB. Now, that team or QB might have gotten the benefit of trying to explain it before thinking they are guilty, but as obvious as this is I think the end is the same

Did it happen to the Titans or Redskins or Packers? If not, then you are simply deflecting from the Patriots cheating.

http://www.slate.com/articles/sports/sports_nut/2015/01/stats_show_the_new_england_patriots_became_nearly_fumble_proof_after_a_2006.html

Really interesting article about the Patriots lack of fumbles since the rule was changed in 07 about who handles the footballs (which Brady was the first QB to try and get the rule changed).

Gents - lets all agree this is a big deal because the AFC champ may have cheated in the championship game - because of the previous spygate issue and the fact that our entire society enjoys seeing people get knocked off a pedestal that is higher than us it is also over hyped to some extent.

Also - the gametime temperature was around 50 degrees - obviously not something that could miraculously underinflate only 11 of 12 of one teams balls by 2 lbs. each.
