Nats lead 7-1 in 7th with two outs but here come the Mets with a six run rally! Then Newenhies jacks moonshot off Papelbon to take lead in 8th. Six game lead with Degrom manning the hill tonight.

Mets head to ATL this weekend for 4 game set. Turner has always been a house of horrors for NYM, hopefully we can get a split.

Recall there being a few Mets fans on this board.

Yankee fan here, but as a new Yorker (long island actually) it's hard not to root for them....and at the same time be jealous of the seemingly endless string of pitchers they keep bringing up.

I would be shocked if they don't make a decent run this coming post season.

My parents are from the city (live in Tally now) so I've always had an affinity for NY. I grew up a Yankee fan and had been to the house that Ruth built many times. I haven't been to the new stadium yet.

Speaking of the Amazing's I was watching a documentary on the '86 mets the othe night. To this day they rank right up there as one of my most hated teams of all time (right there with the '97 gators). Remember, I grew up as a Yankee fan. The years and not living in the northeast has loosened my hate of that team--- but man when I was 13 I despised Strawberry, Knight, Hernandez, Gary Carter, etc.

I've also noticed that the new mets stadium isn't nearly as loud as Shea was.... at least not on TV. How do the two compare to you (for anyone)?

Baseball is different in the south. Although I'm a Braves fan now, even during the great years, Braves fans were quiet. And once September rolled around fans here would rather be in Athens (UGA). Post season baseball is great when the mets/ Yankees are in it....

Huge Met fan here. Cespedes should get legit MVP consideration. Our starting pitching staff get a lot of press, but it's been out bats that have helped us take a 7 game lead on the Nats in the second half. Wright, Duda, and Cuddyer have to stay healthy for this trend to continue.
