How do you beat the after lunch food coma?

Ate a big lunch & dragging today even though I had a low key weekend.

Not a coffee drinker so it may be 5 Hour Energy time.
 
My stand up desk has helped tremendously...

Don't eat so much, brah. Save half for dinner.
Simple. Do not eat any carbs at lunch. You will notice an immediate difference. I used to get the 2 o'clock nap urge too. Once I stopped eating carbs at lunch, I became the beast I am today :)

I intermittent fast two days a week (don't eat for 20+ hours) so I'll eat a regular sized breakfast and lunch and then not eat again until the next morning. I do it because your body needs to be shocked out of the routine feast mode. It's also a great opportunity for your body to destroy harmful cells. This probably won't solve your problem, but it may help over time when your body adjusts the way it reacts to meals. Fasting gets a bad rap and is something more people should do, even bodybuilders benefit from it, which is counter-intuitive.
 
i second the drinking coffee thing. I drink about 4 cups a day that are caffeinated and one or two that aren't.
