Just youtube the girl who was the big winner at the grammys. When did that bullcrap start passing as good music? Of course I know I grew up in the late 60s and 70s with the greatest music of all times and music does change, but she has to be the most non talented hack I have ever seen. Who votes to decide the winners? They had to be smoking something a lot stronger than regular gunga.

Yeah, it is amazing that anyone who knows music could possibly take the trash out today seriously. There are good young bands but they don't play computer created pop music so they get no attention.

People spend a lifetime perfecting their musical talents and this is what they decide to promote to sell albums (the term selling albums dates me doesn't it)? I get that I'm probably not going to be a big fan of a lot of these award winners music but some of them do have talent. With her, it seems they have some kind of digital computer adjustment to her voice not to clean it up but to completely cover it up. On a live talk show she was singing without the computer and it was at best sub par. They had her brother singing with her to help her voice out. Then in concert they had her mic so low the crowd and background singers where completely drowning her out on the portion of the song I listened to. At first I thought she had stopped singing as some performs do to listen to the crowd but her lips were moving lol. She had a huge crowd and the kids seemed to know the words to the song and it appears she has been promoted very well. If there is any truth to selling your soul to the devil for fame, this girl is a walking example because I just don't get it.

I know who she is from current news media but I’m not sure I’ve heard anything she’s done. I admit I listen to Sirius exclusively and focus on the 60’s 70’s 80’s and 90’s channels along with a few specialized others so other than someone like an Ed Sheehan or maybe Adele I just don’t pay attention.

I keep mine on the 70s but I also listen to some individual artist from that era. I have moved more into the Contemporary Christian Music now. I like the Christian version of Adele (Lauren Daigle)

Is she the one that whisper sings? I don't get it either.
Yes, that's her, Duh! (sorry, joke reference from her hit song)

Having young kids who are starting to get into the popular music of the time, I am forced to listen to the pop music stations. Some artists are not terrible, is about as kind as I'll be. Billie Eilish is probably better than most. One thing I find annoying is virtually every artist is tied to another somehow. They all make "guest appearances" on each others songs. Either Justin Bieber or Khalid are "featured" artists on practically every song. It's so orchestrated by the record labels to maximize the appeal to a wide audience.

When our oldest started listening to music, for some strange reason, she really attached herself to the 'new alternative' station that played non-mainstream things like Rise Against, Three Days Grace, Breaking Benjamin, MCR, etc. It was only when she went off to FSU that she started liking mainstream pop. Now that she's down in Miami, she's all about that Latin beat, lol.

I watched part of the Grammys, but had to turn it. I didn’t know any song or any artists.
Oh well, no big loss.

You fancy four decades of music....? Impressive. And a Ed Sullivan fan, too. I was at Fifth and Thomas last weekend and that classic rock and roll band really rocked. It was so hard to find a seat in that joint. I have to get that Serious Exclusive working in my car, too. I always thought that Renegade was a song by Styx in 70's/80's. Who would have thought?

I pretty much only listen to rap, rock, and metal so I guess my tastes are broader than most people's. Just because you don't like certain types of music doesn't mean that it isn't considered good music within that genre. For example, I don't fancy country music so I would make a horrible judge of what is classified as good music for that genre.

In short, you not liking it doesn't make it bad. Try thinking about it in terms of books. Just because you didn't like the book (the story) doesn't mean the book was poorly written. It just means it wasn't for you.

I mainly listen to Spotify playlists that I put together. Their Discover Weekly helps in finding music I like. Satellite radio is great except in Leon County where all the trees block the signal.

always interesting at my kid's pep rallies, the whole student body sings "sweet caroline" and "don't stop believing" like it's the best music ever written

You youngins talk about music of the 70's...I grew up Gregorian Chants...the greatest music of all.

I've always felt that music is like art ... who am I to say that's not art if it inspires someone? It's been this way forever. Elvis criticized rock music like the Beatles and he had been criticized for his crazy stuff.

I like some Eilish and Post Malone, but I don't like most other stuff out there. I'm 55 and it's just not my thing but I'm not ready to slam it because I dont like it.

I’m 35 and I don’t get Billie Eilish at all. I’m not actually sure what her talent is?

Gee, and I thought the 50’s was the greatest....but then again, I lived it !

I have watched 5 seconds of most of the Lawrence Welk shows. Why 5 seconds? That was the time it took me to get off the sofa and walk to the TV and change the channel (no remotes in those days, lol).

Is she talented who knows.

What concerns me more is the number of people (parents/record execs/producers/etc) who had no issue with a 15 year old girl becoming a role model while performing a song with the following lyrics:

White shirt now red, my bloody nose
Sleeping, you're on your tippy toes
Creeping around like no one knows
Think you're so criminal
Bruises, on both my knees for you
Don't say thank you or please
I do what I want when I'm wanting to
My soul? So cynical
So you're a tough guy
Like it really rough guy
Just can't get enough guy
Chest always so puffed guy
I'm that bad type
Make your mama sad type
Make your girlfriend mad tight
Might seduce your dad type
I'm the bad guy, duh
I'm the bad guy
I like it when you take control
Even if you know that you don't
Own me, I'll let you play the role
I'll be your animal
My mommy likes to sing along with me
But she won't sing this song
If she reads all the lyrics
She'll pity the men I know
So you're a tough guy
Like it really rough guy…
