- Vic's Italian - excellent NY Style pizza. Pasta dishes can be hit or miss.
- Trophy Pizza and Brewing - very good pizza with unique toppings. My favorite is the Daredevil. It's a spicy pie with scirracha, jalapeño, and ghost pepper salami.
- Cafe Luna - good pasta dishes
- Tuscan Blue
Burgers -
- Bad Daddy's - pricey, but great burgers, okay beer list. And Tots
- MoJo's - not as good as Bad Daddy's but pretty good. Reasonably priced
- Chucks - very good burgers. The toppings are a little fu-fu. It's not listed on the menu, but you can build your own without the fu-fu
- Clouds Brewing - decent burgers
- Raleigh Times - good burgers, good beer list. Rooftop seating
- Busy Bee - decent food. Good beer list. Rooftop seating
- The Station - decent food. Decent beer list. Excellent patio
Bakeries
- Boulted - very good. Go for the Ham & Cheese Croissant
- Yellow Dog - not as good (to me) but more selection
BBQ:
- The Pit - BBQ in an upscale setting. It's good, not great.
- Coopers - better q, but still not great. Cash only
Mexican:
- Centro- never been but my wife tells me it's very good
- Jose & Sons- Mexican/Southern fusion. Very possibly my favorite restaurant in Raleigh
- El Rodeo - typical Mexican restaurant.
- Cala Vera - empanadas & tequila.
