Informed Delivery® by USPS®

Interesting but unless I can pick items to shred/recycle before they show up in my mailbox, I don't really care that much, I can't stop the inevitable.

I guess it lets me not bother going to the mailbox for days/weeks, not sure that's a behavior the USPS would want to drive.

A few years back I saw a few startups that would receive your mail (you use their address instead of your address), open it, scan it, and email you with the PDFs. You could then review the full contents and ask them to send it to you or destroy it. Not sure if they survived.

I re-read my post and can't believe I called this "interesting".
Goes to show you what happens when all the truly interesting stuff gets watered down. I'm left convincing myself that I give a crap about and/or have an opinion worth defending on this topic.

If someone is slowly stealing my mail, to them I say, "you aren't doing a good enough job."

I guess I just don't get that much junk and don't find it terribly hard to insert junk mail into the postage paid envelope and send it back to them. Now, if there was a service that would help me and automate THAT, id sign up. Could put the junk mail people out of business pretty quick. I sure hope they like my valpac.

Wait...you send junk mail back to the sender? Like you stuff all of your junk mail into one of the postage paid envelopes and send it back? I don't know if that's embarrassing or genius!

I don't do it all the time, but absolutely. Like Ranger, I have rarely met a fight not worth fighting. :) Even the little battles are worth fighting if they amuse me. And this amuses me. I will even take it out of the mailbox, swap the envelopes contents and mail it right back without walking up the driveway. Always tear up the outside envelope so it fits into the new one, every little oz counts.

seminole97, it never even occurred to me to let the kids help. I think my kids will love it as well.

Edit, heck, maybe I should start adding all the project garbage they send home from preschool. We save some stuff but we would be buried under the stack if we saved all of it.

Wouldn't surprise me if that DA that broke her leg stealing the package didn't try to sue the home owners.
