A first or second round exit this year and he will never overcome the critics, which there are plenty, that I can guarantee. He will have a losing record in the first round of the tournament alone, or a 4-5 record overall. He will have 3-4 tourney wins in 15 year
If he makes it to a sweet sixteen, most define that as a successful season (so long as you're not Duke/Kentucky/UNC), and even the most critical Ham haters will at least subconsciously acknowledge anything can happen in the later rounds. He will have 2 sweet 16's and an ACC title in the last 6 years, which is above average for this decade for the ACC.
