Is Tom Brady's success because of himself or.......

Looks like he borrowed the ACC Rope a Dope strategy to win a championship....fall way behind and mount a furious come back to win it in the waning minute.

I don't care what system you play in, it is hard to beat someone who was as accurate as he was in the 2nd half last night.

The first half was an example of what happens when your touch is off...even if you are a great QB.

He was great at throwing the bal anticipating where the receiver would be...often you could see that the ball was thrown into a spot in space and the receiver jagged to that spot.

Belichick's system was 41-55 in the years prior to Brady (36-44 and fired in Cleveland, then 5-11 in his first year with the Pats).

Is his success a result of the system he plays in?
Obviously both. When your average pass is 5-10 yards and you have an eternity to throw, you're deadly. They build a wall around him and find quick guys who can get open and the rest is history. Other than Brady, who's even on that team from his first Super Bowl?

I think Belichick is more important but really you can't have one without the other in terms of the success that franchise has enjoyed.

if its the system...why don't other teams use the system...the Pats have had coaches leave that knew "the system"

Because nobody else has the ability or discipline to manage personnel to optimize the system. You can't explain the undrafted or under-drafted players having success in their organization without Belichick. People get clouded by metrics, ego, etc. where he doesn't.

The guy won with Matt Cassel, Jimmy G, and a rookie Jacoby Brissette for heaven's sake. If it was just one of those QB's then you have an argument.

People think the salary cap era makes it harder to win consistently, I disagree. The very best coach/personnel pair can dominate more easily, not less. Just look at where MLB is in relation to the other sports that have a cap - baseball is more wide open.
