I work here in Mississippi. My boss is a big time Ole Miss booster. He gets updates from Ole Miss staff about how recruiting is going and how the team is doing. Whenever I am in his office and we talk about football, he quickly puts down the ACC. Teams like Ole Miss, Miss State, Tx Am and so on can not recruit against FSU. They recruit against the conference. The Conference as a whole does not live up to their end of the bargain. Besides Clemson, no other team in the conference wins consistently. There is no benefit for FSU in its ACC schedule. Having FSU on the schedule benefits the other ACC teams. It is a one way street. We have to either 1. leave the conference (long shot and not likely) or 2. Schedule 2 or 3 high profile games out of conference like we did under Bobby Bowden. The ACC is ten times better than when Bowden was coach. But the ACC rep did not hurt us because of the strength of our Out of Conference Schedule.
