Florida State softball's Jahni Kerr was named the ACC Player of the Week for the first time in her career on Tuesday afternoon. Kerr is the third FSU player to win the award this season joining Kennedy Harp (Feb. 11) and Jaysoni Beachum (Mar. 17). FSU's three ACC Players of the Week is tied for the most the program has had since 2019 when a Seminole won the award five times. FSU also picked up three ACC Player of the Week awards in 2022.
Kerr continued her hot stretch at the plate this week as she started off her week with a bang in the Seminoles' 4-0 win over No. 2 Florida. Kerr hit her first multi-home run game of her career and drove in all four runs in the win over the Gators. Kerr had another great performance on Saturday against Virginia where she went 3-for-3 with a RBI in the Seminoles' come-from-behind win over the Cavaliers. Kerr finished the week 6-for-12 (.500) with two home runs, five RBI and a walk.
Kerr has been on fire since the start of ACC play as she leads the conference with a .545 batting average in 12 ACC games. Overall, Kerr is hitting .396 with four home runs and 23 RBI.
