Fisher opening statement ... talking about the potential of a young team. Said the team has talent, but desire and knowledge will determine how well they play. Very excited about the team.
Fisher cautioned that depth charts right now mean nothing ... most concerned about teaching, putting guys in positions.
As for the quarterbacks, Fisher said Sean, J.J. and Golson will get equal reps.
Injury wise ... Josh Sweat and Ryan Hoefeld will be limited early. Deondre Francois might wait a week or two for full drills. Reggie Northrup and Terrance Smith are full go.
At running back ... not overly concerned about depth right now. If he needs to move people there, could put Stevenson at tailback and move a tight end to fullback. Also could put Ryan Green there, but wants to leave him at cornerback for now.
Intangibles ... Fisher said he is very happy about this team's chemistry. Likes their hunger and personalities. Said that seems to be better than last year.
On Golson ... Jimbo hasn't seen him at workouts (NCAA rules), but said he was sharp in meetings this morning. Said it looks like he has spent his time well learning the playbook.
Grades wise ... there are a few guys that still waiting to see if they make it academically. He didn't offer which players in particular. Said it's the same every year.
Talking about the youth of this team ... Fisher reflecting on the 2013 team, which had a lot of first-time starters as well. Said he didn't know that team was going to be that great until the Boston College game. The way they persevered in a tough game in which BC threw a lot of things at them, and they came through on the road.
Fisher said Maguire and Golson get along well and have been helping each other.
Offseason workouts - Fisher said attendance has been great. Strength coaches said there were few tardies and reports that guys did a lot on their own.
Freshman eligibility -- Marcus Lewis will be at practice, but they're still waiting on a transcript for Lorenzo Phillips. Thinks he'll be good to go.
Freshman class -- One of the best he's ever been around in terms of discipline, academics. He also has some "alpha dogs" in this group.
Also injury wise, Tyler Hunter is good to go. Matthew Thomas out with the shoulder (as we knew).
On the OL -- very excited about the ability but knows they have a lot to learn. Speaking very highly about the fourth-year juco guys (Are and Mavety). Those guys and Rod Johnson will be the rocks that they build upon.
That's it for the live updates. Will have a story on the QBs coming soon and more a little later.
