Just bought a Speed Queen washer...

They named it that cuz washing clothes is chick work. But have fun with it.

My dad worked for them for a long time when I was a kid. I had no idea they were still around.

OP could you tell what you had before and why you like the Speed queen better? I may be in the market soon

We had a GE profile harmony...about $900 It was massive the largest...bought it when be built our home three years ago. we have 5 kids and they play sports...did about 10 loads a week...three years later the wheel on the bottom breaks off... I look at and the piece that broke was the agitator and it was the size of my pinky....way to small don't have to be an engineer to see that. Called them up and they said it was a rare problem...but it was somethin that happened all the time according to the reviews of the washer....over $400 to fix

we decided to by a new one...my wife wanted a match to her dryer...bought another GE and it sounded like a loads of rocks were thrown in.

Looked on line and found that Speed Queen was still around...had a 25 year old one when we first got married...was a hoss...and so we checked around and found who sold it...it is totally old school and washes like a commercial unit.

they are twice as heavy as the GE and have the best warrantee there is...and all metal gears
they aren't beautiful or anything...but they have full rinse cycles and do a crazy good job.

they will tell you that is the best machine there is for durability
