The Kay Yow Cancer Fund presented a check for $25,000 to the Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare Foundation in honor of Florida State women’s basketball head coach Brooke Wyckoff at halftime of Sunday’s ‘Paint it Pink’ game.
The grant will be used to support Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare to benefit the Walker Breast Program and TMH. Battling stage 4 cancer, long-time NC State Naismith Hall of Fame Coach Kay Yow envisioned the Kay Yow Cancer Fund would raise money and support programs that provide access to quality cancer healthcare.
“It’s a proud moment for me to be a part of women’s basketball who celebrates cancer awareness through Play4Kay games and foundation,” Wyckoff said. “They support women with cancer. They supported ‘Paint it Pink’ and Tallahassee Memorial Hospital, and that’s something that’s very near and dear to my heart as well. I was excited to see the turnout and all of the fans in pink supporting the team and this great cause.”
The Seminoles (18-4, 8-2 ACC) defeated Wake Forest, 97-68 on Sunday and will travel to Charlottesville to face Virginia (12-11, 4-7 ACC) at 7 p.m. on ACC Network Extra on Thursday.
