Watched the whole thing. Really, really enjoyed it. While l am not nor ever have been a country music fan , I was surprised at how much I was familiar with. I’m 68 years old ( F.S.U. ‘ 73) and recognized a bunch of both musical and cultural influences country music has been in the last 100 years. Ken Burns always does good stuff, try and catch this on your local PBS station if you can.

Not a country music fan either, but any film project by Ken Burns will grab my attention.

Watched portions of most episodes and my biggest surprise was just how structured the "Nashville" sound actually was and still is. The producers at the power studios left very little room for individual creativity.

Also had no idea that the "Bakersfield" sound had attracted and launched the careers of so many CW greats, like Merle Haggard and Waylon Jennings.

Glad I tuned in.

I feel in love with Country music while at FSU. So the documentary brought a lot of memories. Loved it.

Was just there again, and as every local told me “no locals go to Broadway anymore. Its so inauthentic and commercialized now.” 100% agree. Also a sloppy scene even on weekdays by lunch

And there you have it. Commercialization and money. Ain't capitalism grand? And no, I am not vouching for another economic system because they are all flawed.
