Kjettrup shoots 67 to finish in second-place tie at Cabo

Junior Frederik Kjettrup finished another strong performance by shooting a final-round 67 at Twin Dolphin Club on Tuesday. The native of Denmark moved up six spots in the final round to tie for second overall at the Cabo Collegiate Invitational, finishing 5-under (72-69-67).

Kjettrup recorded an eagle on the par-5, 593-yard first hole, which was also eagled by teammate Cole Anderson earlier in the tournament. He added six more birdies on Tuesday, tallying 15 birdies over his three rounds played.

Kjettrup has consecutive Top-2 finishes to begin his spring season, winning the Watersound Invitational and tying for second in Cabo. The junior was honored as the ACC Golfer of the Month on Monday.

Included in Kjettrup’s round was an incredible score of 29 on the front nine.

The Seminoles finished fifth overall and moved up another spot on the leaderboard on Tuesday, shooting 3-under on the day and 8-over for the tournament. No. 1-ranked Vanderbilt ran away with the victory, shooting 18-under while second-place Ole Miss shot 6-under.

Anderson tied for 10th at 1-under (73-71-68), recording five birdies on his final day.

Sophomore Michael Mays tied for 35th at 6-over (74-71-74). Junior Brett Roberts shot 8-over for the tournament while freshman Luke Clanton was 17-over.

Florida State hosts the Seminole Intercollegiate at the Seminole Legacy Golf Club on March 13-14. A 15-team field comes to Tallahassee to play at a course that was recently named one of the Top 15 courses in Florida by Golf.com.
