They just opened in my town. Geez I wish they wouldn't have. One of those things I love but feel like crap after the 3rd one. So good though. Today is chocolate glaze day as well

Hmmmm.... it’s almost like your body is trying to tell you something.
Hmmm! Those Krispy Kream Donut Franchises used to be the hottest thing on the market.
They had people standing in line begging for a franchise. Then the bottom fell out, mainly because word was being spread how bad those donuts were for you. But they are still around. Every now and then somebody looking for my employer's business drops off a dozen. I wish they wouldn't.

When my wife and I are visiting her family in Salisbury, NC we are always driving by to check for the red light. Decadent goodness.

You must work for Dublin Donuts.

The bottom fell out because they were way too aggressive with their expansion plans as well as their unrealistic expectations (fees) of the corporationfrom their franchisees, not because their product is unhealthy. America is the master of obesity.

I am glad I don’t have one in town, because I have to get them when that light is on saying they are hot

It was a bit of both. There will always be a market for sweet foods that are terrible for you. But the younger generations are not flocking to donuts the way we did before and do have a higher demand for healthier options. You combine that with their overly aggressive expansion and it lead to this.

The other thing they didn't expect was the boom of the cupcake market which takes a lot of people who are fine with eating unhealthy food, but like them a bit more "gourmet".

We have one in our town, but I’m not a fan. Plus they don’t sell kolaches, which is mandatory in Texas.

I will never eat another Krispy Kreme; I get indigestion just thinking about how bad a beating I took on their $#%!$#^%!^ stock.

I’m pretty sure the number of donuts eaten annually in the US has not been trending down over the last decade, so I don’t think it the health factor or other options.
