So I'm looking for someone to basically clean out a bunch of beds, pull random plants and weeds, and dig out some azaleas. Without going through fricken espositos that needs a consultant charging 150 an hour, what is the best way to go about it? I figure 60 to 75 bucks an hour for 10 to 15 hours? Where do I find that person?

Espositos doesn't want your business. They are ridiculous with their high quotes and charges.

Give my lawn guy a call. He does all sorts of extra work around my yard at very reasonable prices.

On a full-time yearly schedule, that is about $150,000 per year. That is definitely a great living for a gator fan without a good education (I know that is redundant).
$150k basically all cash at that, which is equal to about $238k pretax earnings (if your lawn guy is into that). Likely they'll wind up reporting some but not all of their earnings.

Few years back I got thrown out of a bar, which you'll all be thrilled to know, it was cash only and I drunkenly asked if they were even paying taxes, apparently a sensitive subject for the owner, he doth protest too much.

On topic: OP I know a guy who's somewhere around $60-65/hr, reliable, usually just pay him via Venmo when he's all done.

As an aside, I opened this thread worried it was going to be volume 1.0 in a whole new series of posts about landscaping guys and their potentially inappropriate sexual escapades.

You need a shade tree gardener, pretty easy to find, online, mullet wrapper, word of mouth. We had one in Tally, and now in Charlottesville. About half have some sort of horticulture background, so they will know how to correctly put those shrubs in. 25-50 an hour. Feel them out, they should have a good general knowledge of the local flora. We typically use one maybe 25 days of the year, we have quite a few formal gardens and do a lot of the work ourselves.
