Link takes you to a POV video on the test ride. Long coaster, looks like a lot of fun

Other than the height it's pretty tame really. I hate the ones that drag you up by a chain and prefer the ones that shoot you out of the barrel like Rock n Roller Coaster and The Hulk...

Speaking as a huge coaster fan, I'm excited and will be going this year.

But I'm "surprised" at how the media just reports the lies about it (and the previous "first" 4D coaster in world coming out in Texas even though it's smaller and %*%*er than the TWO that already exist in Magic Mountain let alone all of those in Japan). It's going to be awesome, but it's not the tallest, fastest or longest in the world. Steel Dragon 2000 in Japan is 8,133 ft while Fury 325 will be "only" 6,602 ft long. That's good enough for longest in Merikuh but half a mile shorter than the world's longest. Fury is going to go a Max of 95 mph which is one less than Steel Dragon, but Formula Rossa in Abu Dhabi goes a stunning 149 mph plus there are several short track coasters in the US that go faster like Kingda Ka at 125 mph and Top Thrill Dragster at 120 mph. Then there are several short track coasters that are much taller as well as Kingda Ka is 456 ft tall versus Fury's 325 which only makes it the fifth tallest.

So long story short, it's very fast, very tall and very long and may very well end up being the best or one of the best coasters overall but it's nowhere near the fastest, tallest or longest in the world. But that's some nice fact checking by the U.S. press. I guess you can just put any old lie in a press release and it will be repeated verbatim. That 4d coaster in Texas (Batman) really got to me when they said it was the "first in the world" when it won't be completed until this year while X2 was built 13 years ago. Plus X2 is 190 ft tall (versus Batmans 120 ft), is 3,610 ft versus 1,108 ft for Batman, and goes 76 mph versus 50 for Batman.

One big drop, followed by a bunch of gentle turns. Looks pretty sweet.

If the designers of that thing liked to party the big drop would immediately go into a massive loop, followed by two sets of opposite corkscrews, into another HUGE hill/drop. At the end of that drop you pass under a 100 yard long shark tank, plunged through a waterfall on the end, into more corkscrews (so many corkscrews - lets say 5), followed by an additional 5 succeeding loops, each smaller than the last so you build up more speed. At the end you do it all over. Backwards.

I like coasters a lot. But as I get older, the height of the ascents are really starting to bother me. I look at that, and for the first time, I see a coaster than makes me feel like I want to take a pass.

I rode the Goliath at Six Flags Georgia this summer for the first time. Nice coaster, and I enjoyed all of it, but just don't like that climb. We had the chance to walk off and right back on because of a light crowd, and I sent my kids on without me. Once was enough.

One of the more unexpected sucky things about getting old for me. For some reason I just can't shake that fear of being held so high above ground that never bothered me at all years ago.

I do enjoy the coasters that shoot you out, but something about being pulled up to the top. I am terrified of heights, so that is generally the only nerve racking part of a coaster for me. Just slowly going up and realizing how much higher than everything else I am. That one a Sea World, the Manta that puts you face down is awful for people with a fear of heights.
As for this coaster, meh. Agree on the loops. Six Flags in Jersey used to have the Scream Machine, That was an awesome coaster. Like a 200 foot drop right into a 160 foot loop, followed up by back to back loops. Couple of corkscrews at the end and a little upside down run. Great ride.

I think Fury 325 is going to be really impressive in person. I get the whole "no loops" thing and it's "just corkscrews", but if you compare the video of Intimidator 305 to the slightly taller, slightly faster Fury 325 it's about the same course. And Intimidator 325 at Kings Dominion is my 3rd or 4th favourite coaster. It doesn't look like much on video but the speed and tight in real life turn is enough to cause most people up start to greyout (aka your peripheral vision narrows until it's like you're using goggles. Intimidator 305 is the only one so far that has caused me to greyout as its a little over 5gs at the max and it goes from about 0 to 5g pretty quick). I haven't seen where Fury has its Gforce measured yet but Allegedly Intimidator goes from close to negative 2 gs to slightly over 5g. Some people even red out on Intimidator due to the negative gs and one of the probably dozen times I rode it the black woman next to me passed out at the first tight turn and had to be woken up at the station. Oh yeah, plus I'm %+%*ed at Intimidator anyways, last time I rode it my IPhone got thrown out at some point on the ride and demolished.

Here's Intimidators POV

My favourite steel coaster right now is X2 in Magic Mountain followed closely by Tatsu (a flier like Manta at Otown Seaworld but even better it REALLY makes you feel like Superman also at Magic Mountain. My third favourite steelie is probably Volcano at Kings Dominion followed closely by Intimidator 305. My fifth favourite is Nitro at Six Flags NJ. Millennium Force I've always thought was overrated as it's usually the #1 American coaster by most (or Bizarro).

Here's the POV to X2

Did this one recently. Was fun.

Oh and as for the Woodies, I haven't ridden anything that tops any of the three at Knoebels because they do an amazing job keeping them up to date and smooth as opposed to most woodies which are usually neglected. Phoenix, Flying Turns and Twister are both really great and really smooth coasters although the former terminator coaster (I think called Apolcalypse currently or something like that) at Magic Mountain is faster. El Toro in SFNJ is my fourth favourite and Thunderhead at Dollywood is probably my fifth. I admit I haven't been on the two new looping wooden coasters Hades or Outlaw Run.

I keep hearing it's the longest, fastest, and tallest giga coaster in North America... and that it is. Top Thrill Dragster is a strata coaster. This is basically the tallest, longest and fastest chain lift roller coaster in North America.

Except you would die, so no. I'm good there. Loops at 95 MPH are a bit too much Gs for the human body.
