Florida State freshman pitcher Makenna Reid was named one of 10 finalists for the 2023 NFCA/TUCCI Freshman of the Year award. The Seminoles have had a finalist for the second consecutive season as Michaela Edenfield was a top 10 finalist last season.
Reid has been phenomenal in the circle all season for the Seminoles. She holds a perfect 12-0 record. In 35 appearances, Reid has a 1.00 ERA and has allowed just 10 earned runs all season while leading the team in strikeouts. In ACC play, Reid posted an ACC best 0.63 ERA in 33.1 innings of work and allowed just three earned runs all season.
Reid was a second-team All-ACC selection and was also named to the ACC All-Freshmen Team.
