ESPN top 25 under 25 (yrs old).

SMH

At least Devonta made the list along with Jameis.

Lol Winston is on pace to be the best QB in the history of the league.. yet, some still don't think he was the best in his class.

And playing against some of the best defenses in the NFL and missing several weapons on offense. I like Mariota but he's piling on stats against garbage teams.

Jameis has had no support or weapons to throw to the Oline is average at best. Very little running game with Martin out most of the year.

Cameron Brate
Freddie Martino
Cecil Shorts the third
Luke Stocker
Adam Humphries
Russell Shepard

Mike Evans

Welcome to Jameis's weapons guessing not many have heard of these guys.

Outside of these 3, nope lol. Only Evans is elite

He is the best under 25 and top ten of all the league and I don't care what anyone says about it

When Jameis takes a less talented team in a tougher division to the playoffs that argument will be over with for the time being.

Where are they ranked, respectively?

I know this is a FSU board, but as a Bucs and Noles fan, it's probably a toss up between the two at this point in their careers. I'd rather have Jameis but if someone is putting together a list, Mariota will have the stats in his favor. He leads Jameis in most relevant stats (101 passer rating to 90, 25 passing touchdowns to 23, 64% completion to 61%, 7.93 ypa to 7.29, 8 interceptions to 12).

But Jameis has a better record against a much tougher schedule (5th ranked schedule vs 23rd) on his side.

Marcus is on pace for 4,000 yards passing, 33 touchdowns, and 11 picks

Jameis is on pace for 4250 yards passing, 31 touchdowns, and 16 picks

When it's this close, I'd go with Jameis , but I won't be mad at someone if they go with Marcus. It's pretty close all things considered.

Jameis can pull away with it if they go 11-5 though. Honestly, he'd probably be a MVP candidate if he managed to pull that off.

Both are playing well, but as one poster above mentioned, look at their opponents as well. Tampa has played what seems to be a number of tough defensive teams.

Jameis is on pace for the most yards in a quarterbacks first two years IN NFL HISTORY. He's better

Russell Shepard and Adam Humphries?? Hilarious
lol That's why I said only Evans is elite...but I only know who those guys are, no idea who the other WRs are in that list. Vincent Jackson is a beast but is out right now.

I'll just say this since they will be compared for their entire careers. Tennessee is happy with their choice, Tampa Bay is happy with their choice. They are two different type qb's running different systems. Both are superstars.

Will say they just picked up Josh Huff who was in Philadelphia until he had a little drug problem so the Bucs picked him up. Pretty much shows how desperate they are.

Vincent Jackson tore his knee up for the second year in a row. He's 35 so he's pretty much done in Tampa.

And a little pistol problem lol

Its so hard to compare players. Mariota has a much better OL and rushing attack to protect him. He has throw almost 60 less passes than Winston, which shows he isn't needed as much on that team.

Mariota has played well but I would like to see what Winston can do if they switched teams. Winston is routinely relying on 3rd string rbs and WRs with an OL that is at best average.

Mariotta top to bottom has better talent at every spot than Jameis and Winston has outshined him to this point. ESPN can't stand it either. I know those guys too sadly enough. It makes me laugh that Jameis is making Humphries look like an NFL receiver!

Wasn't that Joyner that stripped him in 2013??

Agreed. I am a Titans fan, and I would not trade Mariota for Winston, just as I am sure Bucs fan wouldnt trade Winston for Mariota.

Agreed. Let's just watch both dominate the league for years to come!

How many Titans guys have you heard of? Delanie Walker is a good TE for sure, but he also isnt a Gronkowski type of TE either. Besides Walker, their top receiver is Rishard Mathews. Mathews played 4 seasons in Miami and averaged 25 catches, 2 TDs, and about 400 yards a season. Not exactly a whose who of great wide receivers.

How is he on pace to be the best QB in the history of the league after 28 games?

You have to take that with a grain of salt. QBs used to not play when they were rookies. Dan Marino threw for 7300 yards and 68 TDs his first 2 years, and didnt even start until halfway through his rookie year., so that was in 25 games, which is 3 less games than Jameis has played so far. Plus, it is much easier to throw the ball today with the rules emphasis than it was prior to 2003 or so (whenever the emphasis on pass interference started).
