Hello Everyone,

Today I made a life long dream come true for the second time. Two years after receiving my undergraduate degree in Sport Management from FSU, I was able to Graduate from the Florida State University with a Master's in Business Administration (MBA). I've spent the last few months applying for jobs but with the exception of a handful of phone interviews, I haven't had much luck landing anything solid. I'm reaching out to you, my fellow Seminole Alumni, wondering if anyone has any information about potential job openings or opportunities that may be available. I'm currently 25 years old and and moved back to the Jacksonville area today to live with my parents while I continue the employment search. I'm open to relocation and a variety of positions but my most recent work experience was working for the past five years as an Accounting based Graduate Assistant for the FSU Athletics Business Office.

If any of you have any information that you're willing to share I would be thrilled to listen. I'm eager to begin my professional career and prove my self as a worker.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and as always, GO NOLES! >>---;;-->

Problems of the youth of today. Recently retired and class of 92 alumni checking in. It took me damn near 3 and a half years to get the job I wanted after getting my degree. Like you I was eager to proove myself.

My knowledge on this field is limited; but from what I heard it is a hard field to start off in. I would think that working in the FSU athletic office would help provide a solid networking base. It is likely you may have to start off with a very low level or even volunteer job in order to get a job you would like.

As someone who has spent the last 15 years in business/finance, my advice is that at 25 it's not too late to change course and go back to school and get a medical field related degree IMO.

I worked nearly 20 years in various fields before I found the career for me. If you are absolutely dead set on sports, at your age, I'd start at the smallest venu possible to get in. Network like you have never networked before, hustle and climb. Your journey will probably suck, but if it's what you want then you have to do it.

With your MBA go to Liberty Mutual.com and see what they have available countrywide

You probably already know about the site but check out teamworkonline.com

I'm sure you could find something with the Jaguars, PGA in Ponte Vedra, Jumbo Shrimp, Icemen, etc.

Honestly that's not terrible advice. I have a hard time selling my own legal career as a wise investment from a 20-25 yo unless they got into a top 40-50 school.

With the upcoming further automation of artificial intelligence, robotics and ease of distance employment meaning cheap Indian and Chinese labor for positions in computing, architecture, engineering etc...means that the only job market I consider relatively safe is the medical field. In the future, low level nurses and administrative staff will be replaced by robots and further automation, but upper level nurses, physicians and admin will still be needed.

Congratulations you have done well. Think about how to separate yourself from the pack - military service, move to Belgium, Peace Corps in Africa - you're 25 see the world droning in a office cube is a slow track. Good luck.

Look at some of the big defense contractors. Jobs all over the world and they are always hiring.Depending on where you work you will be years ahead of your peers just graduating with pay. First 100K is tax free. If you are single it's a great opportunity to see the world.

With your background I think you’d be perfect fit for my organization. You’ll be an Independent Business Owner and control your own schedule and not answer to anyone like all those corporate drones do. In 2-5 years you’ll live a lifestyle others can only dream of.
