Anybody know what is the maximum amount you can withdraw from an account at a BoA ATM?

An item just came up for sale and I need to pounce. Problem is, it's after 4:00 and the bank tellers are closed for the day.

If I need $1,100 - 1,200 out of my account, am I gonna be able to get it? Seems I read they place limits for fraud security purposes, but I'm looking online and some people suggest calling the bank (maybe the number on the back of the card?). Anybody ever done this?

My cash limit is 2,000 day. Purchase limit is $8k. You can call and request they adjust your limits.

I believe it's $500 unless you call and request otherwise. Depending on your account history they may accept or decline your request.

Thanks, I saw mention on their website that their machines can only dispense 40 bills at a time, so that would be $800.

Maybe I can call, but I wonder how much advance notice they need. If I'm standing there at the ATM, can I call and make the request (I realize an answer is unlikely)?

I'm still waiting on another response from the seller; she contacted me at 3:00 - too late for me to get to the bank before they closed.

Shoot, I was debating all day on whether I should go ahead up there and take out a huge chunk of cash, but then after I didn't hear anything back all morning, I called the number again about 2:00 and the Voicemail was full, so I figured, "Shoot, she's swamped with people that are interested. My odds are so slim."

She said there was another person going over to take a look, but I was next...

I think it's 600, but they will bump to $1,000 or so with just call. I use to take out $500 to $700 and when I hit $600 to $700 it would lock my card. I would then need to call them to get it unlocked. The call lasts about 30 minutes with a message repeated very 20 seconds that you are next. That kinda shite will make you want to punch somebody even if you're not Irish.

It was a geetar, but I just got a text that the one I really wanted was sold, so it's all moot now.

Hookers and blow...

You should be able to find that info on their website, either before or after you log in. I can log in to my bank's site, click on the card number, and the daily purchase and ATM withdrawal limits come up.

Yeah, right. I drive a 20-year old car and live in an old CBS shack that doesn't even have central heat and air.

That's because, in typical musician style, you piss away all of your $ on musical instruments.

Well, that and hookers & blow.

LOL, yeah, but in this case it was 2 Martin guitars (one appeared to be from the '50's and in excellent condition) for $1,200 (perhaps negotiable) at an estate sale. They didn't have the models listed, but from what I could glean from the pictures, the guitars looked like they could have been worth north of $4,000. So, I was looking at it as an investment opportunity.

Rule of thumb...if you're ever wanting to raise your ATM withdrawl limit while you're in Vegas, you're making a bad decision, abort immediately!

Just for future reference, you can adjust your daily limits right on B of A's website. I can't remember where its located on site, or what the max is, but I remember I bumped my a couple years back.

Even better rule of thumb, I you are signing the paper work to get the cash advance from the casino, allowing them to run your ATM the following 24 hours--when your limit is reset--you need to go back home. That 4 team parlay on Sunday is not going to hit and save the beating you took Saturday.
