It looks like they are bumping up PPV to $89.99. That's a lot of coin to watch Mayweather run around the ring and avoid contact.

Yea and I think it's even a little more for HD. Since Manny is HBO and Floyd is Showtime, they had to up the price so both networks could rake in cash.

On top of it, they've been trying to strong arm cable operators into taking a 30% cut instead of the standard 50/50.

Not showing it in theaters, and will likely price most of the bar operators out of it.

It's so stupid. It's going to be the richest fight in history in any event, but they're going to do long-term damage to their model by making it so expensive/difficult to find that many, many people will be compelled to find out how to watch it for free online who never have before. And none of those people will ever pay for a fight again.

This. Anyone paying for this fight now is a sucker IMO

If you really care about boxing, it's still an important fight. I agree that it's probably priced too high and a few years too late to draw in the casual observer. But what do I know? I bought Sunday Ticket to watch the Bucs play last year.

There is something that rubs me wrong about the whole thing. Pacman has lost, the fighters are older and they treat the fan like they knew that no matter when they decided to have this fight everyone would come running. I would have paid $100 for this years ago but now they can shove it. Pissed because I felt like this could have been one of the greatest fights of all time but their greed ruined it. No matter who wins this fight, it doesn't prove anything to me because they aren't both in their prime.

If you are a boxing fan, it's a "must buy". I could understand why your casual sports fan wouldn't wanna buy but then again. I could understand them not wanting to pay for any fight. They are still the best two in the sport and the energy around the fight will be like none before. I can't wait to get out to Vegas for fight week!!!

I will drop in at somebody's house to watch it for free and drink their beer while I am there...

I'm a boxing fan and pacq is no longer a top 2 fighter. Triple G says hello.

Interesting that you say that. Based on their age and Mayweather's fighting style, I anticipate 12-round anti-climatic fight, with Mayweather playing mostly defense and avoiding mixing up with Pac. Then a scheduled second fight within the next year.

If you know any Filipinos, they will either be watching at their house or one of their cousins, uncles or aunties houses. And will have plenty of food and drink.

The historical significance of the fight has most definitely diminished with their age. However, the chance of it being a good fight should be much higher versus had they fought 3-4 years ago.

Mayweather has been somewhat tested in recent fights versus Cotto and Maidana, and Pac is still definitely superior to those guys even today.

I believe that Mayweather will win, and possibly fairly easily, but I think he'll have to fight. He's not going to be able to simply elude and potshot like he did at his ugly prime. Pac is not just going to follow him around one-dimensionally flailing, he's still an offensively gifted fighter with a great corner. He's still a lot faster than Mayweather has faced in years.

My biggest hesitance with Pac in this fight is that I think it takes the ability to physically bully him a little bit to beat him. And I don't see Pac being able to physically lean on him the way De la Hoya, Maidana and sometimes Cotto could. I could be wrong, but to me I've always thought that was the key. I thought Cotto at 140 would have tested him, of course Margarito. I just don't see beating him without the ability to maul him a bit, but I could be wrong.

Shrugs, $90 bucks split about 10-15 ways...one of our neighbors has the giant inflatable screen and we're going to watch it around his pool with about 20-25 people
