Just read the article posted on WC front page on Jermaine Johnson. Mel Kiper (understandably) has great things to say. Could go as high as 9th or 10th pick depending on team needs. Couldn't be happier for him.
And then another thing jumped out: "If Johnson goes in the top 10, he would be the first FSU player to be selected that high since Jalen Ramsey went No. 5 overall in 2016. Brian Burns was the Seminoles' last first-round pick in 2019."
Let that sink in. No first-round picks since 2019. That's the primary reason we are where we are. FSU recruiting went into the tank starting in 2016. Maybe before that. That, and the hard work wasn't there. Norvell is trying to fix it - starting with finding a talent like Jermaine Johnson who just came in to work, and elevated his game.
