Monday's practice was easily the season's most unique session and there are quite a few reasons. To start, the offense switched from garnet practice jerseys to white and the defense switched from white to garnet. It was done so the quarterbacks can familiarize themselves with what color jersey they'll be throwing to in Friday's game at Boston College.
Then, of course, the biggest thing that made practice unique was the start time. FSU's started practice sometime between 3:45 to 4:15 this season. Monday's practice started a little after 6 p.m. Now here's the news:
DE Lorenzo Featherston was in shorts and a t-shirt while doing some rehab. He's been out with a knee injury and had a brace on his left knee. There was one point when he did ladder drills while holding a football. Featherston was getting some strong vertical movement while going through the ladder drill. Jimbo Fisher said during his press conference there's a chance he could return after the bye week.
DE Chris Casher, also with a knee injury, walked around during practice. Fisher also said during the press conference Casher could be back at some point in this week. OL Abdul Bello, OL Cole Minshew and OL Chad Mavety were at practice but held out. Bello and Mavety were both on the exercise bike. WR Nyqwan Murray's cast is no longer this large, hardened behemoth. His hand is actually visible while still wrapped. But for anyone who sees it, you can actually see skin. It wasn't that way before. He's still limited to one hand and once again, he made another one-handed catch on lobbed passes during drills.
OL David Robbins along with two walk-on offensive linemen came over to work with the defensive ends on shedding blocks. As for the defensive tackles, coach Odell Haggins challenged his guys. Some linemen were told to push on the sled for so long that some didn't have movement after 10 seconds. Still, the point was for Haggins to push them and he appeared please.
Tweet Of The Day:
We spoke with Fisher earlier today and afterward, we grabbed Dalvin Cook. Make sure you check back on our site throughout the evening and Tuesday morning for the latest content.
Until next time. Goodbye for now.
