Nikita Whitlock

Man.....he was definate a favorite of the announcers when we would play Wake

He played us pretty well. I don't see the problem with announcers touting the one good player on a bad team. I'm sure he's not just a fullback. Many NFL teams play reserve dt at fb

All jokes and over praise aside, for an undersized NT he was very good. Glad to see him catch on as a FB in the NFL. In my opinion he outplayed our Defensive lineman not named Jernigan.

I remember that game well. Say what you want, but our offense struggled and was out of sync all night in that game.

So much hate in this thread.

You guys are probably the same ones that moaned and groaned and complained when Aaron Donald was named ACC Defensive Player of the Year over Timmy Jernigan.

So many complained about that and talked about how much better Jernigan was.

Then Donald got drafted higher. Then Donald was named to the Pro-Bowl as a rookie.

Why is it so hard to be good sports and to give credit to players on the other team? Why?

Haters gonna hate. The kid was a player and deserved being mentioned, especially doing what he did, at that position, given his size. Great for the young man.

I don't see anybody in here acting remotely as bad as you'd have one to believe.
Completely false statement.
Man, you're a hard dude to read sometimes.
A fierce defender of swamp donkey & a number of other gate-related topics, & many times confrontational in tone. Imo.
At least you've got god's country to embrace out yonder yada yada..

By the way, dude was a fiery ball of serious energy & power.
Great player, no question.

Interesting there was one season he was in our backfield so much I thought he was OUR starting FB.

Come on now! No hate. I see some funny jokes, some debate, and otherwise acknowledgmethat he was a good player AND some announcers were prepared to have his child.

In direct contrast, announcers seem to be deriding the Swamp Donkey for being an out of control megalomaniac with a subpar intellect who is way over his head at a program which will cannibalize him within three seasons. They may be right about that narrative and we will have a front row seat to the demolition derby!

Whitlock and Jordan Lynch should be inducted into the college HOF together.

Two greatest opponents in FSU history.

What about the Tyree Hill kid from Okie State last year? He had a whale of a game against us as well.
I think ,every year there is a particular opposing player who does outstanding against us. No need to be downgrading toward them

Spot on. These footwipe teams have a max of 1-2 "notable" players. They really aren't that great in the grand scheme of things, but they are clearly the footwipes' best personnel. The media relations people totally blow them out of context, and the announcer dudes have to say something positive about these undercard opponents. Ergo, we hear 3-4 hours of blather.

I don't think the "hate" is towards the player. At least for me it's not. He was a heck of a player considering his lack of size. What got old was Ed Cunningham tripping all over himself to blow the guy for 3/4 of the game when our Noles were whipping Wake's butts all over the field. Of course Cunningham is in my Horrible Announcer Hall of Fame. He was a charter inductee with Lundquist, Gilmore, and Pollack. Anyway...

This. What became a joke was at one point during the 3rd quarter they talked about him for about 5 minutes straight during the broadcast like he was the only player on the field.

Very good player.... Yes

Great player......Reggie White and Deacon Jones were great players
Yes. Right into the arena of HOF greats he goes.
C'mon man, obviously he's not them & I didn't mean to imply that, but you already knew that.
He was great, "RELATIVELY SPEAKING."

Corey Moore was another great one who tore us up....sarcasm, sarcasm
